David Shearer - Recording Engineer, Musician, Vocalist, and Composer
Since 1988, I have been fulfilling my dream of recording music in my own studio. I once was told jokingly that I had a bad case of "GAS"-- Gear Acquisition Syndrome. Just ask my wife, Lynn. She will agree. Some people are left or right-brained. I seem to be "music equipment-brained." I "eat up" the latest in audio technology information. When I purchase a piece of equipment for my studio, it is only after I have researched it heavily and found that, for the price, it is the best purchase for my needs.
To me, recording is as much an art, as painting, music composition, or performance. I strive to create an audio image that delights the ear and gives the mind something to ponder. I want the hearer and the performer to enjoy the audio experience and crave more. I truly believe that music has the ability to bring healing to the soul, and therefore, I strive to create sound recording reflective of that belief.
